2008 US Open Tennis Access for American Express Cardmembers
If you have an American Express Card you can get access to some great tickets to the 2008 US Open Tennis Championships, which run from August 25 - September 7 in New York.
From Monday, June 2 through Saturday June 7, American Express Cardmembers have access to a presale for US Open tickets. These are tickets that aren’t even available to the general public yet, and will most likely be impossible/very hard to get if you’re not a Cardmember. Tickets range from $22 - $80.
If you have a Gold Card or Platinum Card, there are a limited number of VIP seats in the lower promenade of Arthur Ashe Stadium that are available for purchase for three day sessions from August 30 - September 1. Each ticket is for one day session, and includes access to a private hospitality area with complimentary buffet and bar service. These tickets are $190 each.
You have to love the access to sports and entertainment that you get with an AmEx Card. If you don’t have one, we recommend the American Express Gold Card. Read our review or apply now.

If you aren’t familiar with American Express’s access program, it’s basically a great feature for American Express Cardmembers that let’s you in on some of the best tickets, premium seating and VIP passes to concerts, sports events and Broadway shows. A Tale of Two Cities, The Musical - Now through June 3, AmEx Cardmembers can get access to tickets before the general public to these performances, which begin August 19 in New York. You can also purchase these tickets with your Membership Rewards points, which is very cool.
Walking with Dinosaurs, The Live Experience - Presale for Cardmembers for this show, which will visit Madison Square Garden from July 30 to August 3. Presale for Cardmembers is now through Saturday, May 17.
PGA Championship Golf VIP Tickets - Only one day left to purchase VIP tickets to the PGA Championship, which will be played from May 19 to May 25 at Oak Hill Country Club. New Kids on the Block, Jerry Seinfeld and PGA Championship Access
Every week American Express sends out the Gold Card Entertainment Access email to Gold Cardmembers and above (Gold, Platinum and Centurion). If you don’t have a charge card that gives you great entertainment and travel benefits I’d recommend the American Express Preferrred Rewards Gold Card.
Here are some highlights from this week’s email:
New Kids on the Block VIP Packages - Presale starts May 5 and includes options for a 5-star and 4-star package for the group’s performances in September at IZOD Center and Nassau Coliseum. The 5-star package includes tickets in the first 10 rows, a meet-and-greet, pre-show party and exclusive gift bag. If you purchase the 4-star package you get a ticket in the first 20 rows, an exclusive gift and a coupon for a discount to the New Kids on the Block online store.
Jerry Seinfeld Stand Up for a Cure Benefit Show - VIP Packages for this show at WaMu Theater in New York on June 2 include:
